What you get
X Shadowban Checker is a free shadowban test for X, the network still widely called Twitter. Enter a username and it runs up to four public tests, then gives one plain answer with the evidence behind it. It reads only what anyone can see without logging in.
What is a shadowban on X (Twitter)?
A shadowban is a limit on how widely an account or its posts are shown, applied without telling the owner. X does not use the word. Its own rules describe the same thing as reduced visibility: posts left out of search and recommendations, replies ranked lower in conversations, and restrictions that leave a post reachable only from the author's profile.
Because nothing announces it, the only way to notice from outside is to compare what an account posts with what other people can find. That is what this test does.
The four shadowban tests
Search suggestion ban
The account stops appearing in the suggestions X shows while someone types its name. The test asks X's public suggestions for the exact username, up to three times, because a single answer is sometimes empty for an account that is there.
Search ban
Posts are left out of X search results, hashtags included. The test takes up to twelve posts from the last fourteen days and looks for each one in a Latest search for that account. If any are missing, it searches a second time before saying so.
Ghost ban
The heaviest kind: on top of a search ban, replies are hidden from other people while everything looks normal to the author. The test opens the threads of recent replies the way a logged-out reader would. If a reply is visible there, or search is fine, it is not a ghost ban.
Reply deboosting
Replies are pushed down a thread, behind "Show more replies". The test looks for up to three recent replies on the first page of their threads. X ranks and paginates every busy thread, so a reply further down is reported as not confirmed, never as a ban.
How to read your result
- No shadowban found means every test that ran came back clean. The line above it says how many ran.
- Possible search ban, possible ghost ban or possible search suggestion ban names the one test that found a sign, seen more than once. It is a public sign, not proof of a penalty.
- Not enough to test means the account has no recent posts to compare, or X public data was not answering.
- A test missing from the list means the public X data it needs was not answering. A line under the results names it, and the tests that are listed still count.
What to do if a test finds something
- Test again in a few hours. A new post can be on a profile before it reaches search, and a short-lived miss usually clears by itself.
- Open the post while signed out, or in a private window. Reaching a post directly is different from finding it in search.
- Check X's own notices. The account owner can see account status messages and labels on posts that no outside tool can read.
- Stop repeating the same post. X lists duplicate and automated posting among the behaviors it filters from search.
The guide on how to check if you are shadowbanned on X goes through each check by hand and what to do next.
What this test cannot see
It cannot inspect personalized For You recommendations, follower feeds, notifications, blocks or mutes, and it cannot read private enforcement labels. X says reach is decided by many signals and can also be affected by filters, experiments and technical issues. A public test can observe symptoms; only X can identify the cause.
Independent use of X public data
CutNoodle uses the name X only to identify the platform being checked. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by X Corp. The page does not use the X logo or reproduce X's interface. Public posts remain the property of their respective authors and are linked as evidence rather than republished as CutNoodle content.
Where your data goes
The username and public-data requests go directly from this browser tab to FxTwitter. FxTwitter receives the request, your IP address and ordinary technical information. CutNoodle does not receive or save the username, the sampled posts or the result. See the privacy policy.
Common questions
Am I shadowbanned on X (Twitter)?
Type your username above. The test looks for the four limits people call a shadowban: a search suggestion ban, a search ban, a ghost ban and reply deboosting. In a few seconds it shows which ones it found, which it did not, and which it could not test.
Is this shadowban test free?
Yes. It is free, and it never asks for your X login or password. It works on any public account, yours or someone else's.
Does the result prove that an account is shadowbanned?
No. X does not publish a shadowban status, so no outside tool can prove one. A "possible" result means the same public sign showed up more than once. Indexing delays, sensitive-content filters and ordinary ranking can produce the same sign, which is why the test never says an account is banned.
What is the difference between a search ban and a ghost ban?
With a search ban, posts are left out of X search results. A ghost ban goes further: on top of the search ban, replies are hidden from everyone else while they still look normal to the author.
How long does an X shadowban last?
X does not publish a duration. A limit tied to one post or one behavior can lift once that stops, and a search delay often clears within hours. The practical answer is to run the test again later and compare.
Why is a test missing from my result?
A test is left out when the public X data it needs is not answering, and a line under the results names it. This happens to X search from time to time, so the search ban test is sometimes missing. A row that says "Nothing to test" means the account has no posts or replies from the last 14 days to compare. Neither is ever counted as a ban; the other tests still give the result.
Can it check For You reach or notifications?
No. Those surfaces are personalized and are not public. The test also cannot read X's internal labels or tell how many people were shown a post.
Is this an official X tool?
No. CutNoodle is independent from X Corp and FxEmbed. It reads public information through FxTwitter, an independent unofficial service, and does not ask for an X login.
