Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 August 2026

These Terms govern your use of the CutNoodle website and the CutNoodle application (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

CutNoodle is a tool that detects silent passages in a video and removes them, then exports the result. It runs inside your own browser. We do not host your files, we do not process your media on our servers, and we do not have access to anything you edit.

2. Your account

No account is required. There is nothing to register, and no credentials are issued.

3. Price

The Service is currently provided free of charge. Placeholder: if paid plans are introduced later, pricing, billing, and refund terms will be published before they take effect and these Terms will be updated.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to process material you have no right to use, to produce content that is unlawful where you are, or to attempt to disrupt, reverse the security of, or misuse the website. You are solely responsible for the videos you edit and for what you do with the exported file, including any copyright, likeness, or consent obligations attached to them.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to your videos and to your exports. We claim nothing, store nothing, and receive nothing.

6. Third-party software

The application relies on ffmpeg, an independent open-source project, compiled to WebAssembly and delivered with the website so that it runs inside your browser tab rather than on a server. Its own licence terms apply to it, and we make no representations on its behalf.

7. Availability and changes

The Service is provided as it is, and may change, break, or be discontinued at any time without notice. Features described on the website may be modified or removed. Because the application runs in your browser, it also depends on browser features outside our control, and a browser update may affect it.

8. No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that detection of silence will be accurate, that exports will be free of defects, or that the Service will suit your workflow. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of any source material.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, nor for loss of data, loss of footage, loss of profit, or missed deadlines arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Intellectual property

The CutNoodle name, logo, and website content belong to their owner and may not be used to imply endorsement or affiliation without permission.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by closing the tab and clearing the site data your browser has kept. We may suspend or discontinue the website at any time.

12. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated, and the date above will be revised. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

Placeholder: state the governing law and competent courts once the operating entity and country are settled.
